Asana is hathayoga, the non dual Tantra of direct intimacy with Reality. (What does this mean?)

Our great Yogi friend Krishnamacharya who had his asana documented for humanity, so all that he had rescued. from the 5 to the 14th C Yoga Tantras would be passed on. His guru lineage of Ramanuja had completely integrated Vedanda with Tantra in the 10th C. Tantra = direct participation in the given reality. Tantra being the practical means to actualize the goal of Vedanta, advait… not two, no difference. All difference dissolved in the One indivisibility, the reality of all reality. He embodied that & dedicated his 101 useful years to bringing Yoga to all the lands.

.

There is a very specific Yoga practice with specific principles… a specific wisdom way to do asana that came from the pre 15th C wisdom traditions. We urge you not to ignore these principles as they are the practical means to reside as reality, with life, the power of the cosmos as it actually is. Where reality (or God, if that is your language) is felt to be the first principle of the body, the “world”, the ego I. Not the other way round of assuming the world, the body and the ego I are the first principle; then trying. to work back to God from there with obsessive yogas meditation and philosophies etc. A hopeless enterprise, but the way of yoga and religious, misogynist power structures since 15th C.

.

So yoga rightly practiced with the wisdom principles is direct embrace / participation in God, not a seeking for God or reality.

The technology of Yoga is quite specific, yet. easily learned, adapted specifically to your personal needs. It is the unitary movement of body mind & breath in life. It reprograms the body mind from all the presumptions of limit that we inherited from society.

The understanding of indivisibility of all and the practices of that realization is the only hope for humanity. This time is bringing this up to be seen & understood. Humanity is destroying itself in the old world presumptions of separation, difference, competition. This is coming to an end. Defeated by Mother Nature herself.

This: a twist in both directions. Flexors & extenders, muscle groups stretching and easing with the breath: is the magic. 2nd photo is Desikachar honoring his father’s sandals.
